Space in Africa Essay Competition

Women in Aerospace – Africa at the ALC Conference in Abuja, Nigeria

We are proud to announce, that Noampumelelo (Mpumi) Ursula  Malinga our Satellite Operations Technician trainee has received the second runner-up position in the Space in Africa Essay Competition for Enhancing Women Participation in the African Space Industry.

 The competition received 106 essay entries from 20 African countries and each entry provided impressive content with Mpumi’s submission being rated in the top 3. The topic she discussed is important for the sustainability and effectiveness of space programmes on the continent and more especially the role of women and girls in this environment. We congratulate  Mpumi on such an outstanding achievement and her vision for all young women and girls to get more involved in space.
