European Space Weather Week

A SANSA Space Weather team attended the Ninth European Space Weather Week (ESWW9) at the Académie Royale de Belgique, Brussels, Belgium from 5 – 9 November 2012. ESWW9 was attended by over 300 researchers, forecasters and users of Space Weather products and services.

The event highlighted key innovations in space weather research, applications and services. Various sessions focused on current challenges and actions necessary in moving towards a sustainable Space Weather Infrastructure able to meet the requirements of a diverse end-user community.

ESWW9 provided an excellent opportunity for the SANSA team to network with other organisations involved in Space Weather. The team identified new space weather products and applications and learnt how to improve upon existing South African Space Weather services.
