The Exciting World of Electronics

Grade 10 students from Qhayiya High School in Hermanus attended a series of interactive Techno Programmes aimed at exposing students to the world of electronics. The programme provides a basic understanding of the practical applications of electronic components and how they work.

The final session took place on the 25th of July 2012 at SANSA Space Science in Hermanus. The programme included an introduction to basic electronic components, PCB project kits, electronic circuit building and soldering skills.

The 44 students from Qhayiya High School were accompanied by their science teacher, Miss Nonqne and their principal, Mr Lolwana who felt this initiative was an eye opening experience for all.

Dr Lee-Anne McKinnell, MD of SANSA Space Science, presented the students with a certificate for completing the programme and awarded two special prizes to the best team player and the top performe Alungile Siguca and Thembela Ntshangase respectively.
